Summer owes us a few good days

Let's just say it like it is. This summer has been... wet.

We've all looked out the window thinking, "Maybe tomorrow," more times than we'd like to admit. We've grilled less, spent less time outside, and put off walks, bike rides, and all those little things that make summer feel like summer.

But that's the thing about Icelandic summer: you never know when the good days will show up. And if we keep waiting for the weather to cooperate, we might be waiting forever. So instead, let's make our own good days.

That's why Frímó (freeminutes) is back.

From now until midnight on Wednesday, you'll find 30 free minutes waiting for you in the Hopp app.

Simply choose the 30 minute pass as your payment method before starting your ride, and you're good to go.

Don't overthink it. Just hop on.

Ride down to the waterfront. Explore a neighbourhood you've never really wandered through. Grab an ice cream.

Or simply cruise around the city with nowhere in particular to be.

Because sometimes, the ride itself is the destination.

Feel the wind in your hair. Let freedom recharge you.

There's something special about gliding through the city that most of us know all too well.

The wind in your hair. A little drizzle... or maybe the sun on your face. The city comes alive around you, and for a few minutes you forget about your to-do list and everything waiting for you at home. Somehow, the day suddenly feels a whole lot better.

Maybe it's the same feeling of freedom we were so good at finding as kids.

We never needed a reason to go outside.

We just went.

Maybe we don't always need a reason today, either.

Maybe all we need is 30 free minutes.

See you out there 💚
